Electrical Optical Engineer

What you need for this position:

-U.S. Master"s Degree or foreign degree equivalent in Physics, Optical Engineering, Electro-Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
-6 months of experience in optical design or photometry.
-Graduate or work experience in lab set up, data acquisition, computerized data analysis and presentation of results.

What you"ll be doing:

-Design optical components for forward or signal lighting, including solid-state light sources
-Apply knowledge of physics, optics, semiconductors, and mathematics to create design solutions to vehicle lighting engineering issues and generate new concepts improving optical design capabilities.
-Perform product development using commercially licensed and proprietary optical design and analysis software.
- Provide photometric requirements of solid-state light sources to electronics engineers.
- Provide optical design related guidance and technical advice to project engineers and designers for production projects.
-Analyze assembly drawing for solid-state light sources to ensure proper operation of lamps during testing.
-Design and conduct tests, and perform lab set up, data acquisition, computerized data analysis, presentation of results and other evaluations for prototype and pre-production hardware.
-Recommend design changes based on results of prototype and production hardware tests.
-Create limit samples for lamps using solid-state light sources based on their electro-optical characteristics.
-Communicate with all levels of management, engineers, suppliers, and customers. Document production projects per optical design standards, and development work per Engineering Technology department standards.
